The purpose of this module is to introduce students to technical ‘management’ within performing arts technologies. It seeks to develop the student’s skills in terms of the administrative, logistical and managerial inputs that are required for successful production and stage management engagements. This is an important additional skill-set for any technical practitioner, particularly in the South African working contexts, where budgets are often thin and technical practitioners are required/preferred to be able to take on several roles and functions within the technical areas of a given production.
