The purpose of this module is for students to acquire the English language skills necessary to be able to teach English as a First Additional Language in either the Senior Phase or Further Education and Training (FET) phase of basic education. This requires the ability to communicate confidently and appropriately, taking into account the audience, context and purpose. In addition, it will enable students to use these skills for academic learning across the curriculum.
